Lowercase Sounds
To refresh this brand I applied skills from UI/UX Design, Graphic Design, Print Design and Web Development.
This is an entirely fresh rebrand and web design for lowercasesounds, an online radio station dedicated to underground club music based in Omaha, where they also host some live events.
The basic design foundations for the brand are aligned with the types of eclectic and esoteric music played on the station. The sounds themselves and the artists on the station inspire deep thoughts. I incorporated some elements from music culture into the brand, using the vinyl record and headphones to catch the eye of different types of DJs.
The goal of the color blue here is to be rich and deep, which resonates with the deep feelings stemming from the music. The cool greys enhance the mellow vibe, which they were keen to keep.
The website is a simple one-page layout, maintaining elements from their previous layout. Music is the main content that is published, with news of events being handled primarily in person or on Facebook. The core components are there with no unnecessary pages detracting from the music player. One single color forms the basis for the theme, and the layout stays in line with the name and only uses lowercase type.
